Rod Barbee
Rod is one of the real experts on the Pacific Northwest. A resident of the Olympic Penninsula. Rod is a capable shooter and teacher with numerous publishing credits. He co-authored The Photographer’s Guide to the Oregon Coast with David Middleton. Rod is an exceptional leader, teacher and photographer.

Bol
Tom, whose images appear in numerous national publications,
has over forty covers to his credit. He regularly shoots assignments
(and writes) for several national publications. A resident
of Colorado, Tom's engaging style and enthusiasm will make
you want to come back for more.
Jim
Clark
For the past thirty years, Jim has been an award-winning
nature photographer, writer, motivational speaker, and workshop
instructor. He is past President of NANPA and in 2000 received
that organization's Outstanding Recognition Award. Jim has
two outstanding books to his credit - "West Virginia:
The Allegheny Highlands" and the recently released "Mountain
Memories: An Appalachian Sense of Place. He is currently working
on two more. "Mountain Memories", a documentary
film about Jim was recently aired Augutst 2003 on PBS.
LeRoy DeJolie
Daniel Dempster
For nearly twenty five years Daniel Dempster has roamed the backroads and wild places of America seeking out and capturing on film the beauty and wonders of this wonderful land. Whether he is photographing the powerful thoroughbreds of Kentucky as they thunder down the stretch of Churchill Downs or roaming a stark and rugged Maine coastline searching for the perfect combination of composition and light he is at home with a camera in his hand.
Jack Dykinga
Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Jack Dykinga's work reflects the merging of a photojournalistic, documentary approach with large-format landscape photography, focusing on environmental issues in the United States and Mexico. His images can be seen in a wide variety of publications such as: Arizona Highways, Natural History, Outside, Harpers, Sierra Club, Audubon, Wilderness Society, and National Geographic. Jack's work has been featured with cover stories in Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, and View Camera magazines as well as being aired on NBC's Today Show and CNN's environmental program: Earth Matters.

Bill,
the founder of GAPW, has over twenty-five years of experience
in workshop presentations, publishing and photographic fieldwork.
His books include the top-selling The Nature of America and
America From 500 Feet, the latter featuring aerial photography
taken by Bill and his son, Wesley, from an ultralight aircraft.
His most recent book, Bill Fortney's Great Photography Workshop,
is a how-to guide to photography.

Adam Jones
Adam's images have appeared in numerous national and international publications including National Georgraphic, Audubon, National Wildlife, Outdoor Photographer and Natural History. His calendar credits number more than 100 annualy. In 1995, Adam won the "In Praise of Plants" category of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
David Middleton
David Middleton is a full-time professional nature photographer, writer and naturalist. He photographs whatever he finds attractive and then thinks about trying to sell it. This has lead David to regularly photograph places as disparate as harbors, wildflower meadows, large mammals, small birds, forests, quaint villages, indigenous markets and mountain streams.
David Muench
Muench's primary interest is in photographing with a sense of spirit of the land forms and places, for the land itself -- trying to make people aware of the importance of preserving what is wild in its natural state -- through the viewing of his photographs. "A definite commitment to preserve our wild lands, and particularly to improve and to maintain a balance between economy and ecology, is most vital for our children and for future enerations. Hopefully my work leads to a celebration of man and the earth -- and the mystical forces of nature that help to shape our destinies."

Susan and
Neil have taught extensively for GAPW over a period of ten
years. Their enthusiasm and hands-on approach has made them
one of our most popular teaching teams. Their knowledge and
experience encompass both film (35mm, medium and large format)

nationally and internationally. Widely published and in high
demand as speakers in the profession, their expertise in various

George Theodore
George is one of our long-time GAPW team members. Comfortable in both film and digital media, he has become a valuable resource for many of GAPW’s workshop attendees. George teaches general digital photography and nature photography at a local community college and is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and Professional Photographers of America.
